Some tech-based startups needed to manage contractors to develop internet-of-things software for their products. As the “tech” of these startups was not software (but rather electronics and medical devices) they lacked the skills to know if the contractors were providing was was needed. Seamplex assisted the startups (actually the incubator CITES) with these kinds of technical management tasks.
A feasibility study for creating an artificial intelligence tool for assisting into business decisions in a food factory was conducted. A set of Python scripts that attempted to predict data (i.e. prices, consumption, etc.) from past years were coded. Predictions were based on decision trees and Bayessian regressions. They included other external set of data like FIAT currency exchange markets, stock market prices, etc.

Scriptable pipeline for computing friction forces within a circular and an arbitrarily-shaped plane-stress shafts for the demonstration of the applicability of AI in design optimization. The FEA tool-chain is based on Gmsh and Fino, takes an STL with the shape of the external shaft, reparametrizes and meshes it, solves the penetration problem with an iterative scheme and computes the frictional force as the integral of the normal stresses over the contact area.

A feasibility study of building a web-based interface for analyzing data from quality control processes in the cloud to see where mechanical parts had manufacturing defects was conducted. A prototype of a WebGL interface where the part was shown in a regular browser and a series of heat-maps showed the statistics of thousands of measurements made at the assembly line was built.
